What is an Agentforce
An Agentforce Agent is a proactive, autonomous application that provides specialized, always-on support to employees or customers. They’re equipped with the necessary business knowledge to execute tasks according to their specific role.
Role:-
The role is the agent’s purpose. It defines the job to be done and the broader goals the agent should achieve on your team.
Trusted Data:-
Trusted data is the information the agent needs to carry out its role. This could include company knowledge articles, CRM data, external data via Data Cloud, public websites, and so on.
Actions:-
Actions are the predefined tasks an agent can execute to do its job based on a trigger or instruction. For example, it could run a flow, prompt template, or Apex.
Guardrails:-
Guardrails define what the agent can and cannot do. These can be natural-language instructions to escalate to a human, or could come from built-in security features in the Einstein Trust Layer.
Channels:-
Channels are the applications where agents can do work. This can be your website, CRM, mobile app, Slack, and more.
How does Agentforce Work
-
Data Cloud:
Structured: Data that is organized (like in tables or databases).
Unstructured: Data that is less organized (like emails, documents, or videos).
Zero Copy: This means the data can be accessed without making extra copies, saving time and resources.
-
AI (Artificial Intelligence):
Retrieve: It pulls the necessary data from the Data Cloud.
Plan: It figures out what actions should be taken based on the data.
Evaluate: It checks the quality or outcome of the planned actions.
Refine: If needed, it makes improvements to the plan.
-
Action:
Flow: A tool for automating tasks without writing code.
MuleSoft: A platform for connecting different applications and systems.
Apex: A coding language used to customize actions and processes.
-
Agent:
This is the AI or virtual assistant that interacts with the data and tools.
-
Customer:
The person who benefits from all this, getting the right services or information quickly and efficiently.
-
Trust Layer:
This ensures everything happens securely and with privacy in mind, maintaining trust between the system and users.
